A gathering of bald men: I don’t remember very well because I read it some months ago, but if my memory doesn’t fail, the story talks about a black woman called Atita who finds a photo, she is from South Africa and her country is in war.
In the photo she sees a girl, a special friend called Laker and she begins to seek her.
She seeks her on the hospital, Laker doesn’t remember anything about Atita but one day she starts to remember and Atita smiles because Laker knows who is she.
The photograph: this story speaks about a photographer who is working in Nigeria taking photos; he takes one to a girl who is very thin and she haven’t got food for eat. The photographer sends the photo to the editor who publishes it on a magazine, young girls see the photo because it is on a important magazine and they want be thin as the black girl whom appear in the photo, the objective of the photo is show how a magazine can distort the reality, because they try to show us a false beauty.
The third story talks about how stranger people go to Africa and remove children from their families to give the babies to Europe’s families. Stranger people who can’t have children give money to somebody to take a baby from Africa… but they don’t know how they can hurt a family.
All the stories talk about how the war affects the countries that have it. However the stories show us three different views of reality.

Dora's Turn
This story talks about a country which is in war, and one twelve-years-old boy is ordered to kill Dora, a twelve-years-old girl who is her friend.
When he is supposed to kill her, he realized that he is unable to do it. Dora tells him that he has to do it because if he don't do it, they will kill both of them. Suddenly, they hear the sound of guns and they realize that are the goverment army guns, not the guns of those who ordered Acayo to kill Dora. They think that this is their chance and they run away quickly.
A Pot Full of Tears
This story talks about how difficult it's to be lucky in this life.There is a couple that can't maintain their baby because they are poor and there is a woman who takes it away. It happens the same to another girl who is too young to be a mother. There is an other couple. The woman is barren and they want a baby, so they go to a poor country to take one at home and they pay for it. Maybe they are happy because they are giving to the baby a very pleasant life, but he would never know where he came from.

Through the photograph the story of poor people in the third world is shown. They haven't got food for eat and they haven't got home for protect they kids. They explain us we should help those countries and those people because they have less than us. It's horrible and sad to see that.

Journey to Jo'burg
The two children went to Jo'burg to find her mother. They went by train. When they were on the train lots of people where inside the train. The children can't breath. . They were very desesperated because they didn't know exactly where were they going. Suddenly, they found themselves being carried forward , hurling out on to the platform and then, a man took both and raped them. When the man was leaving from there, three policeman arrested him. The children told to the policeman that their mother was in the city but they didn't know where. Luckily, the police found their mother and the children return with her.

Ashima: A love history from China(Story)
That story talk's about a girl who fell in love with a young man, she get's kidnapped when she was riding a horse, Ahei the young man, try to rescue Ashima but she finally died.
We chose that story because it was a very beautiful and tragical love story.

Cory: The first woman president (Philippines)
This story talks about Corazón, a woman who became the first woman president of the Philippines in 1986. The story explains a little about her life and how she became the president. She served for 6 years and helped the Philippines become a democratic nation.
I have chosen this story because I think that is interesting. I think that in many countries women are undervalued, and see that this woman have became president, it makes me feel happy, but this also makes me wonder why our country have not had a female president yet.

Genghis Khan: Father of Mongolia
This story is like an autobiography of Genghis Khan. His name was Temuchin and he had a difficult life (his fahter was killed by another tribe and his wife was kidnapped). He became Genghis Khan that means Universal King. Thanks to him, the Mongol Empire became the largest empire ever (it included China, Russia, Poland, Iran, Turkey, Korea, and many other countries).
I've chosen this story because I find it very interesting. First, he only was the son of a chief tribal, but he became the Genghis Khan and he did many good things for Mongolia. He was a brave man who fought for what he wanted.

A wedding in Pakistan
This story is about a girl who explains the traditions of their country. She explains that her country is very sexist and that women must be covered. Also says that weddings are organized by parents.
I´ve choosen this story because I like to know the traditions of the countries and it seems very unfair that religion. Especially as I've noticed is that parents have to choose a husband, I don´t like because I think that love arises and it haven´t to be forced.

I´ve choosen this story because I like to learn more about traditions of the countries, as I said earlier.
